Heather Clark is Principal Flute in the Los Angeles Opera Orchestra, Hollywood Bowl Orchestra, Pasadena Symphony Orchestra and the Long Beach Symphony Orchestra. She has performed and recorded under the batons of such conductors as James Conlon, Essa Pekka Salonen, Joann Faletta, Gustavo Dudamel and John Mauceri.

A veteran Hollywood studio recording artist, Heather has performed on well over 500 hundred film and television soundtracks, often as principal flutist, for many of the greatest film composers of our time, including John Williams, Randy Newman, Michael Giacchino, Hans Zimmer and Danny Elfman. Her credits include Star Wars: Episodes VII, VIII, and IX, Toy Story 4, Jumanji, Spider-Man: Homecoming, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, Star Wars: The Mandalorian, The Incredibles 2, Coco, X-Men, The BFG and The Grinch. 

Early in her career, Heather was awarded First Prize in the prestigious National Flute Association’s Young Artist Award. In 2007, she premiered David Newman’s Concerto for Winds with the Long Beach Symphony, with Enrique Diemecke conducting. She also recorded and performed live with top performing artists including Barbra Streisand, Josh Groban, Andrea Bocelli, Carrie Underwood, Jessye Norman, Sumi Jo and The Who.

Heather teaches flute at California State University, Northridge. An entrepreneur at heart, she introduced “Audition Boot Camp” to help musicians win auditions and is currently writing a blog “#NoStarvingMusicians,” championing young musicians to take control of their financial destiny. 

For 27 years, Heather has performed and recorded on a 10K silver keyed Powell flute (which she jokes is the longest relationship she has ever had.) She also plays on a Braun piccolo, and Yamaha alto and bass flutes.
